Don't miss this incredibly inspirational veteran story. Elisha Perkins, Army Veteran, spent his time as a signalman with radios as both an enlisted and officer deploying once each time with the same unit to Afghanistan. His first deployment was chalked full of radio and tower repair. After gaining his commission he again deployed, however, this time around would be cut short by 1 month. Spending over 6 months in Germany receiving surgeries in order just to get back stateside he eventually made it back to find himself with even more surgery and a long recovery.
After medically retiring he struggled with PTSD which drove him to a bad place to be in mentally. Over the years with help from friends and family along with the right medical / mental health he is in a much better place overall. So much so that he started his own nonprofit Pop Smoke K9 for Vets where he personally trains service dogs to give to service members in need. Finding his passion he now travels the country helping veterans get the right service dog for them.
Don't miss his incredible story and journey.
