Lesson 2: Integrity and Honesty
Men who practice what they preach will find favor and honor with the Lord. God will expand their territory, and their cups will overflow. However, living with hidden sin causes men to be afraid to live a powerful and truthful Godly life. They may become obsessed with hiding their sin and fixing problems caused by bad decisions.
- “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.” – Proverbs 11:3 (ESV)
- “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.” – Proverbs 10:9 (ESV)
- “A righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed are his children after him!” – Proverbs 20:7 (ESV)
Additionally, James 4:7 (ESV) reminds us, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” This verse emphasizes the importance of resisting temptation and staying firm in our integrity. We resist temptation by submitting to God and relying on His strength to overcome it.
